Feet treading lazily,
Moving as if in slow motion Across a barren wasteland
Of tussock weeds, and beaten earth,
Their muscles contract as they move,
This mob of wild fire,
Noses thrown about in the wind,
Their eyes alight with life,
Their spirits are untamed,
They move at a daunting pace,
The dark velvet of their coats
Shimmering in the glowing sunset A glow with deep shades of brown,
Chestnut, auburn,
I stare in wonder at these wild creatures,
Spirits of the earth, Awed by their p
